Welcome to Eagle Training |
|
Eagle Training was founded in 1999 by Mike Goergen following his retirement from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. There he completed a 27- year career as a criminal investigator specializing in the area of violent crime, as well as serving as a crisis negotiator and an instructor in negotiations. He founded Eagle Training for the purpose of providing training and consultation to the law enforcement community, specifically in the area of crisis (hostage) negotiations. Since the formation of Eagle Training, Goergen has provided negotiation training to a wide variety of law enforcement personnel. He has instructed foreign police officers in courses sponsored by the U.S. State Department and has trained numerous state and local law enforcement agencies’ crisis negotiation teams. Goergen has also been a speaker at Negotiator conferences throughout the United States. Goergen’s most recent project has resulted in the publication of the Crisis Negotiators Field Guide, 89 pages of step-by-step check lists and other information on a variety of topics for on-the-spot decision making during a crisis incident. It is his long held belief that this type of book was sorely needed but lacking in the law enforcement negotiation community. The resulting product is a guide whose primary purpose is to provide the trained negotiator with a quick reference to refresh previous training on the guiding principles used at the scene of a crisis incident. |
